CENTRAL MIX REAS (Rubberized Emulsion Aggregate Slurry)

Preserving roads with a high quality slurry seal with minimal impact to the environment. Central Mix REAS is a different type of slurry seal.

Central Mix Rubberized Emulsion Aggregate Slurry (REAS) is a high performance slurry surface treatment that extends the life of structurally sound pavements with minor surface distresses. If you have more than minor surface distress you might want to look into a double application Flex Cape. Central Mix REAS is a blend of polymers, asphalt emulsion, crushed recycled tire rubber, crushed and properly graded aggregates, plus stabilizers and performance additives.

Central Mix REAS is unique in its production. One of the differences with Central Mix REAS is that it is manufactured at a central mix plant.  By mixing at a plant instead of at the job site, all materials are tested to ensure the highest quality slurry.  PMI has strict quality control procedures to ensure all Central Mix REAS consistently passes wet track abrasion test.

Central Mix REAS has been successfully used on city residential and arterial streets, highway on/off ramps, as well as airport taxiways and parking areas since 1994. The pavement should be in good structural condition, with low severity surface distresses. For areas of higher surface distresses but good structural condition, consider Flex Cape. Proper preparation is the key to any successful project.

Central Mix REAS extends pavement life by protecting it from oxidation, deterioration and water intrusion and provides a durable, all-weather, dust-free and non-bleeding surface.

Central Mix REAS is easy to apply and neighborhood friendly. The material is delivered in a specialized slurry distributor truck ready for application, no mixing or calibrating is needed. Once the slurries dries it turns into a dark and durable surface that will be ready for traffic in 4 hours.  Residence love this material because it causes little inconvenience (less than 1 day) and will not need to be reapplied for over 5 years.

Another benefit of Central Mix REAS is the materials contains higher amounts of asphalt emulsion and recycled tire rubber than conventional slurry materials, resulting in better looking and longer lasting roadways.

Central Mix REAS is currently the only slurry that has a 5 year warranty.

Central Mix REAS is provided in three basic gradations:

EXCELLENT QUALITY CONTROL

Over 2,000 waste tires are recycled from local landfills for every 10 miles of REAS
Has a small carbon footprint
Reduction of dust and noise pollution
Eliminates noxious odors during on-site mixing of materials
Water-based material: no fumes are produced during manufacturing or application
Transported and applied at ambient temperature
Is safer for workers and the public
Plants produce nearly zero waste or pollution
All waste material is recycled into road base material
